Nature Abounds

The Nature Abounds non-profit organization works to "unplug," "wake up," and "take action" in the environment. The organization runs nationally with muliple successful programs, most notably ICEWatch USA and Watch the Wild.

Watch the Wild is a super easy and fun way to get outside and help your environment! All you need to do is find a nice outdoor spot, a favorite hiking trail, a local park, or even your own backyard. Next, record your observations: weather, wildlife, longitude and latitude, even photos every week or two!

Suggestions

A few personal suggestions for some more personal projects for you to start and create on your own!

Community Garden

Find a spot in your community with consent of the owner first, however, though if it's on your property you can do whatever you want! Then, with what you produce, you can donate the produce to local soup kitchens and shelters!

School Gardens

With help from fellow students and school administrators, you could set up a gardening club, where students help tend a garden at the school. All fruits and vegetables would be donated, and the new plants would brighten up the school!

Photography

Nature photography is very popular, so get out and take a few pictures of our beautiful state! By setting up an online site, opening a little gallery, or selling your photos another way could be a good way to raise money for a charity or raise awareness for an environmental cause!

Community Clean Up

What is stopping you and couple friends from going out and cleaning up your community? Grab some pals, find a spot that could use some trash picking up, and do what you can to make Colorado Springs a little bit cleaner!
