The Springs Rescue Mission is another religious soup kitchen that, last year, served about 290,000 meals to the homeless. As well as this the Springs Rescue Mission hosts a rehabilitation program, helping the homeless get back on their feet! You must be 16 or over to work on your own, and you can work preparing food, serving the homeless, and more!

Care and Share

The Care and Share is like a soup kitchen, but instead gives volunteers the ability to pack, store, and distritubute boxed and canned goods that have been donated! Their goal is to successfully provide food to all who are in need, and can use your help, whether your 6 or 60!

Suggestions

A few personal suggestions for some more personal projects for you to start and create on your own!

Social Media

With approval from one of the organizations, you can promote them through social media like Instagram or Twitter! Get the word out and encourage freinds and peers in your community to help out!

Hold a Fundraiser

You can coordinate with certain organizations, and then collect friends, family, or maybe even your entire school and hold a giant "food-raiser!" Make sandwiches, collect soups, and get/make all the food you can to donate to the shelters!

Volunteer Groups

Often times volunteers come to work together, as part of a church or school group. You can speak with your church coordinators or school workers about setting up a group visit to one of the organizations together!

Skip the Middleman

Skip the middleman and donate food yourself! Build some sandwiches, bake some cookies, or make something scrumcious you can go around town and hand to the homeless! Maybe go a step further and set up a "feeding homeless in the park" booth!
