There are multiple ways to implement photography into your communtiy work! With permission and help from organizations, you can photograph pets for shelters, kids for parents, or nature for sales or promotion!
Fundraisers
Fundraisers are classic volunteer events that, with a little work, you can run yourself! Choose a cause you love and are interested in, find a location, and make it happen. Set up a Vocal ID fundraiser and have kids donate voices on computers! Set up big sales, gardens, classes, or anything else you can think of to promote your cause!
Start your Own Organization!
Are you incredibly passionate about a certain cause and want to take it to the next level? Start your own organization: starts clubs, hold fundraisers and public awareness meetings, build a website, social media page, and more to promote your passion! Compile my ideas and ideas from others to build your own program, but be your own boss and customize and style your methods of promotion any way you want! And get creative by thinking of new ways to publicize your cause!
Social Media
Social media can be a great outlet into promoting local charities, shelters, and organizations! However, you must gain consent from the people you are helping and you must put effort into this: it hardly counts as community service if you post every month with a little caption. Be creative! Use multiple social media sites to promote someone and take meaningful photos while reaching out to all you know for successfull promotion!
Tutoring
There are many underprivelaged people in Colorado Springs that could use your educational skills. Not only can you tutor children, you can tutor adults as well! Set up English classes, teach computer classes, or set up classes (all for free) about you know lots about and teach it to others.
